Last version of TDS/TCS systems allow to apply the patch remotely with the new Océ Remote Patch procedure. With those versions, there is no need to build floppy or CD-ROM to apply the patch. The Océ remote patch procedure is realized through HTTP protocol with a Web browser.
The TDS/TCS versions compatible with Océ Remote Patch procedure are mentionned in the table below.
You can also check whether the TDS/TCS system is compatible with Océ Remote Patch procedure :
1. From a client Web browser, enter the following URL :
http://<tds-tcs_hostname_or_ip_address>/OceRemotePatch.html
where <tds-tcs_system_hostname_or_ip_address> is the hostname or IP address of the TDS-TCS system
Note : Please respect lowercase/uppercase for "OceRemotePatch.html"
2. If the following page appears :
Your TDS-TCS system is compatible with Océ Remote Patch procedure, so follow the instructions below, otherwise click here to apply the patch with a media (floppy or cd-rom)

Patch installation instructions for systems supporting Océ Remote patch procedure :
1. Download the patch file
patch_remote_shf017b.oce and save the
file on your computer
(Win98/WinMe/Win2000/WinXP/Winserver2003/Vista)
2. From a Web browser (on your computer), enter the following URL :
http://<tds-tcs_hostname_or_ip_address>/OceRemotePatch.html
where <tds-tcs_system_hostname_or_ip_address> is the hostname or IP address of the TDS-TCS system
Note : Please respect lowercase/uppercase for "OceRemotePatch.html"
3. When the following page appears, enter the password (see your
Printer User manual) :

4. When the following page appears, browse for the patch previously
downloaded :

5. When clicking on "Apply Patch" a confirmation popup
window will appear. After you will confirm, some
information will be displayed on the screen to inform
you on the patch process. When you'll see the
following information message, the controller will reboot
in order to complete the patch application :
The controller will be restarted...Waiting for PLC patch process to end...
6. After a little while, you'll be able after refreshing the
URL to see the following page again (after controller
will have been rebooted) :

7. After having entered the relevant password (Please
see your Printer User manual), the following page will
appear, and you can control whether the patch has
been installed :
* latest successful installed patch
* last execution status : ... Success

Patch installation instructions for systems equipped with a floppy unit
1. Download the patch file
patch_shf017b.exe and save the file on
your computer(Win98/WinMe/Win2000/WinXP/Winserver2003
/Vista)
2. Create a floppy containing the patch :
- Doubleclick on the saved file (It is an executable which will
guide you through the creation process of the patch diskette)
- Follow the instructions on the screen
3. Shutdown the Océ Power Logic Controller
4. Insert the previously created patch diskette in the
Océ Power Logic controller floppy drive.
5. Power ON the Océ Power Logic Controller.
6. Wait until the patch is applied : a melody is played
(you will hear 2 times a 3 tonal beeps)
- it should take about ~3 minutes on a GX280 PC
- before the melody is played, a PC reboot will occur
- For Systems equipped with a monitor, an error message
may pop up on the controller screen : Ignore it and let the
process go on.
7. Remove the patch diskette from the floppy drive
Verifying if the patch was applied successfully
1. Make a « Print settings » (Refer to your Printer User manual for
more details)
2. Go to the last printout page in the section:
SDS - CONTROL PARAMETERS 22-1, the last line is called:
Patches installed = …………………………
<value>
Check that «
<value> » is greater or equal to 800000000000
Troubleshooting
• 2 rapid beeps are played when Patch has already been applied
• 2 long beeps are played when Patch file is corrupted
• Nothing happens or 7 rapid beeps are played when Patch cannot be
applied (Wrong Océ TDSX00/TCSX00 version)
Patch installation instructions for systems NOT equipped with a floppy unit
1. Download the patch file
patch_shf017b.iso and save the file on
your computer(Win98/WinMe/Win2000/WinXP/Winserver2003
/Vista)
2. Create a CD-ROM containing the patch from
patch_shf017b.iso :
Use a CD burner software (like NERO Burner or Roxio Easy
CD Creator) to burn a CD-R from the attached ISO image
Advices :To burn a CD-R from this ISO image file, Select an
action which "Burn a CD from an Image file",
but Do not create a CD-R with the ISO image file on it.
For example :
- With NERO 5.5 Burner : use File/Burn Image
- With Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.1 : use File/Record CD
from CD Image
3. Insert the previously created CD-ROM in the Océ Power Logic
controller CD drive.
4. Restart the Océ Power Logic Controller.
5. Wait until the patch is applied : a melody is played
(you will hear 2 times a 3 tonal beeps)
